Chelsea’s Crush

Yipee…more flying today & it was my flight with Bradley in 2007. He finishes today & isn’t back till 2nd January, so we flew in G-BZET to Andrewsfield…hmm oor viz for that trip, we came back in “RL”…even poorer viz. Oooh i had to close my eyes as i like flying in clear weather seeing where i am going. Later on BRadley, Nigel & i got a taxi to Andrewsfield to bring back both Robins - looks like a bit of formation flying :) Bradley & i were the lead aircraft as, Nigel formating behind us…ooooh how close can u get!!! :) As it was the last day we gave BRadley his present - it was an instrument flying kit & had lots of joke items in it…he loved it!! Chelsea was in with Victoria today…she is a big help & she loves me (well who wouldn’t). What a lovely girl - she said she wanted to win me & keep me forever :)

Christmas day YAK doesn’t look promising

Christmas is drawing ever coser & ben n mattie have broken up from school…shame Nigel & Deb’s have another few days of work!! My calenders have been selling slowly at Earls colne…i can’t see why they havn’t been flying off the shelves as they all feature me - perhaps it’s one of the ohters that has fightened people off. Doesn’t look like Debs will be YAK flying on christmas day, as JB is still waiting for the push to be finished in maintenance. Oh well we’ll just have to keep our fingers & (paws) crossed for it to be ready for one last flight for me!! At least i have the photo’s & videos to keep my memoried alive :) Deb’s has been talking to me about ideas for her book - they sound good - so it looks like she’ll be kept busy after all :) Debs & Nigel just never seem able to sit still, they always have to do something :(

Bradley vs Nigel

Back to flying…Bradley & i went to Andrewfield with Yvonne with “RL” as it was due maintenance. Nigel came in formation with us in “CW” & Yvonne was so surprised at how close he got “hee hee” :) We all then came back in “CW” with Bradley at the controls!! & what a great landing he made - typical!!! He was surprised at how heavy the Robin was on landing - after a cup of tea Nigel & i flew “CW” to Elmsett & i couldn’t face the A12 on the way…i’ve become such an expert at navigating…maybe i sholud give lee & yvonne lessons :) Nigel did a greater landing at Elmsett just to prove he can do it - oooh he’s so competitive!!! Well if they wanted to watch an exert do it - they should have watched me do it, as (in the words of Ben) ” i is da bear!”

Corrrr- it’s so christmasy everywhere now - there are some fabulous decorations about the place. A great one is between earls colne & the A12 - a builder is sitting with father christmas in his sleigh with a reindeer on a crane - looks brilliant in the dark :) Deb’s has done all her shopping now - i think so an all with the amount she’s done!!! We’ve got lots of christmas cards at home - even i’ve got some…I’m also getting into the spirit with my beard & hat ” HO HO HO” has become my catchphrase. I wonder if i can get a ride in father christmas sleigh - that’ll be a 1st for the log book!!! Ben & Mattie are looking forward to christmas - they’re planning on what they want & what they’ll spend there money on!! Ben is pleased, as this is his first christmas as a paperboy & has got £50 tips…hmmm he’ll be able to get his mum & dad a nice present. :)

Deb’s can fly??

After the panto yesterday - it was time for the panto at “earls colne - only joking” :) Debs had a lesson today & managed 3 brilliant landings in her circuits…maybe she’s getting the hang of it at last!! she was spoiled by Bradley today as he made her a cup of tea after her lesson…& Bradley never makes tea for anyone..must be christmas :) Deb’s was really pleased she did some landing, now we have to see if it was just a fluke!!! Ooops - i’ve copied the look from her again - Dale would be so proud of that haha!!! They were flying G-BZET the green plane…just makes me laugh when a norwich city fan walks in wearing my yellow fur!!!
I think that was Deb’s last flying lesson till 2008, but she go’s flying in between…I wonder if i’ll get another flying lesson with Deb’s…don’t think i’ll make solo :(

Panto Practise

Weel after all our excitement yesterday it was a more relaxing sedate day today. No-more spitfire & YAK back in the hanger, & “CN” waiting to take us home. We couldnt stay to late in Norwich as we had to get back for panto again - the last one before the christmas break!! will Nigel ever learn his lines is the question…Mind you as the dame it doesnt matter as he can ad-lines as much as he wants with the audience…he’s so funny when he talks - so high pitched :) everyone will laugh when they hear him…he’ll never keep his street cred as a display pilot after being on stage. I wonder if elmsett has room for a superstar bear. I could take to the stage, but i think Nigel would get upset if upstage him - he’ll try & do everything to stop me going up.

Everyone flying but me

Spitfire day today - Dale was getting to go front seat in major’s Spitfire :) Nigel was going to fly Yak so that andria could take some photo’s…unfortuanetly there was no room for me - too dangerous on a photographic sortie with an open canopy. Well they all had fun while we were left on the ground :( It took ages to get poor YAk started as it was so cold - thank goodness for my thick fur coat…i think there were alot of cold people wanting to borrow it. Debs took some great photo’s of the YAK & Spitifre…shame she didnt take more of me - seeing as im so photogenic :) Seeing the spitfire brought back lots of memories of my Spitfire flights…the BBMF ones - great flights!! as well as my hurricane & mustang ones. i wonder if i’ll get another flight in a Spitfire or even in “JB”

christmas meal

We had a night flight tonight from Earls Colne to Norwich for our christmas meal at Anglian FLight :) We weren’t the onlyaircraft to go to Norwich today from Earls Colne as James was up in “RM” with Lee & a couple of others from the club. The best thing was ANdrew was working our christmas meal & it smelt delicious!!! James proved himslef to be a gentlemen again because he fixed Andrew’s christmas lights - must be a trait amongst flying clubs. Anyway - we had a great flight - its always nice a night flight, because you get to see all the lights & its great to see all the christmas decorations twinkling away down below us :) . We had a great time at happy landings & at Dale’s prize giving ceremony! We also were lucky enough to be staying over - guess we had to give those pilots 8 hours from throttle to bottle!!!

Flying Circuits

Back to Earls Colne & GA flying - no banning me fro the cockpit here!! Bradley made up for ,y disappointment by taking me on a check flight with David Richings in G-BNRL…he couldn’t believe that i had been refused entry :) Then we went for a flight with Malcolm Wright in G-BZET for some circuits. I’m gettin good at these now, i’m going to miss flying down here with my new family if they don’t have any destinations down here :( Anyway i mustn’t think about that…i’ve still got christmas & new year to enjoy 1st :) i’ll be glad when we reach the shortest day of year, because it’s getting real dark real quick…even the 15:00 lesson doesn’t quite finish in light - thank goodness. There are alot of christmas lights around otherwise it will be a dark place to be!!! :)

Unbelievable

Well another course done by Debs & it was time to go back to Aberdeen to cathc our flight. This time we were in plenty of time - & didn’t have the mad dash!! :) Debs even remebered her car keys & we were through the terminal smoothly. Eastern Airways has a posh lounge for their passengers to wait in, & they also get free drinks & sweets - Easter Airways is great!!! Then the unthinkable happened - i was refused entry to the flight deck!! I couldn’t believe it, apperently there was freezing fog in Norwich & there was water in the cockpit, and they didn’t feel it was right to let me on….Sarah the pilot refused me :( So i spent the flight in the cabin eating loads & loads, where’s my mate SImon?
