Need to get back on track with my diary instead of reminicising on my trip to Aderdeer
Yesterday it was back to GA and real flying! Nigel had some night checkouts to do in G-BZHF…ooh Earls Colne looks so much smaller than Norwich and it has so many lights missing…where are all the approach lights!! Nigel was happy with the checkout so Mr Chak and I were left to do some night circuits on our own…I did offer some advice considering all the experience I have
Today Bradley and I were doing circuits with Debs in G-BZET…at least her landings were better then the ones at Norwich
Think she’s getting frustrated as there’s so much to take in and get right…I did offer to show her the technique (seeing as I have sooo many hours now)- but all I got was the look
I mustn’t be cruel as Im sure she’ll get there one day…hehe ![]()

Glad to be back home after our trip up North. I’ve now got time to tell you all about our other dramas yesterday…as there was such fuss over checking in and Debs was panicing that we’d miss the flight she went straight to check-in and then was planning on dropping the hire cars keys off. Then we had the panic over the badges that she dashed straight through the secruity to the lounge…only to realise that she still had the hire car keys in her pocket…oops
Luckily a friendly secruity man took pity on her and took them back! The flight home was again on G-CDEB (much to Deb’s delight :-)) It was also with a crew that I’d flown with before- Winnie Multer and Simon Rolfe (Dale’s friend)- so it was great as we all knew the drill, we dive a “Yak descent” into Norwich- they said it was because ATC kept them high…I think we have more frustrated pilots!! ![]()

Rather cold and grey in Fochabers and Debs had to work hard to train the staff in “How To HACCP” - its all double dutch to me! We had a nice view of the river Spay and also the surrounding mountains from the training room window - you can tell I wasn’t paying attention…don’t tell Debs!!
Got to spot a few jets whizzing around too - because RAF Lossiemouth was just up the road - cant understand why Debs didn’t take us there?? We managed to fit in some shopping in the Highland village (I just knew Debs would!) and then it was a dash back to Aberdeen to catch our flight…Debs got lost around Aberdeen trying to find the airport entrance (how is she going to manage now??!)
We then had to drop the hire car off and run to check-in…with possible worries about me getting through secruity with all my badges on (sharp objects!!!) Thankfully we made it and flew back safely to Norwich where Nigel was there to collect us - by car - too bad to fly home ![]()

Debs and I are going on a trip today to Fochabers (for work). We flew (Debs flew :-)) from Elmsett to Norwich to catch our flight to Aberdeen with Eastern Airways. Visability was great on the trip and Debs was really enjoying herself…but she needs the practice on the landing! We then caught Debs “favourite plane” - G-CDEB! I was on the flight deck as normal while Debs had to stay in the cabin…but she didn’t mind too much as there were leather seats, sweets on take off and complimentary drinks and snacks on the flight
Good flight there…but then it started to rain once we were there and we had a soggy drive up from Aberdeen to Fochabers - but the scenary looked good. The factory was huge and Debs was amazed after the Colchester one…and she loved the “Highland village” with plenty of shopping possabilities…guess what we’ll be doing tomorrow!

Quiet non-flying day today…time to catch up on some rest and some reading. Went on the forum and caught up on the gossip there
Also had a go at the exam questions again…oooh I’m getting better…must get Debs on here and see how she’s getting on - she needs all the practice she can get if she’s to pass her Air Law exam!! I also had a look through my photo album again…such a handsome bear I am!
I’ve been flying in lots of aircraft and have all the great memories from that. Debs really likes the photo of me with Martin Shaw at Rougham in October…think she has a thing for him!! I like the ones of me in F-15 best…what a great flight and I’ve still got the Eurofighter at Conningsby to do as yet
Bradley is getting excited about that trip - think he’s hoping he can get a ride with me instead of going in the simulator…hmm don’t think so Top Gun Brad!! ![]()

Well I loved Norwich so much that we were back today to do some formations with the Spitfire!! Debs flew us up to Norwich - well another practice session for her! Major was taking the Spit flying and Dale plus Andrea were going up in G-YAKO to take some formation pics…and then we were going up in G-CCCN to take some pics of both
Dougal came with us in ‘CN’ and Andrea got some great pics of us as the “Flying Paparazzi”…Dougal and Debs out the windows with their cameras! Didn’t manage to get the Spit/ Yak formation as we kept out of the way - but did get some nice ones of G-YAKO…complete with me in the foreground
After that we dropped into Earls Colne to give Debs some landing practice and had a chat with Victoria before heading off home with another night flight…what a busy day and how many people can say that they’ve flown in formation with a Spitfire and Yak?? ![]()

Cor - we had a treat today…Major brought the Spitfire (from East Kirlog) in…wonderful
Wonder if I can manage to sneak a flight in…I’m only little and I wouldn’t get in the way…and I promise not to touch any buttons!! Actually it was fun today because Debs and Nigel flew in to pick me up and I was able to show them the Spitfire…ooh I felt so important
Then it was time to go back home after my holiday in Norwich…and we had a night flight home…I like flying at night - it’s so pretty and you can start to see Christmas lights appearing on the ground - brilliant!! There’s alot of blue Christmas lights now - they stand out from the air. Debs chickened out of having a go at night flying - but she did do the radio (Nigel made her work!!)…it was nice to be home again and sleep in my bed…although I did miss Scarlet, Emily and Elliott…ooh and also Andrea and Dale too! ![]()

Just heard the news from Andrea - Debs and Nigel had their CAA medical yesterday and they both passed…yes even Debs!!
Guess that’s why they packed me off to Norwich this week - so that I couldn’t go and have mine done - a fine specimen of a bear that I am!! Debs also got the upgrade for her phone…and she’s now got a Nokia W95 (the one that Nigel wanted since the summer!!) and Nigel isn’t eligble for his upgrade yet
Well no flying for us at Norwich today - weather bad again due to wind (and no it wasn’t Dale!) and I also heard that Debs had her lesson cancelled too
so I turned myself into a “spotter” and sat in Happy Landings looking out of the window watching the ‘big’ planes…notebook and pen in one hand and a cup of tea in the other! I tried to borrow Andrea’s camera to take some photos…but Dale didn’t want any pictures of airlines…ooops! ![]()

I don’t believe it…this poem lark is catching, Nigel’s sister Roz has sent in a poem all about me:
“Ode to Pudsey”
Dear Pudsey, you are quite a star,
We’ve watched you on the web
Flying the Yak and other Planes
With Nigel and with Deb.
We really think you’re very brave
The heights you do not heed,
Your antics are all done of course
In aid of ‘Children in Need’.
We think you look so sexy
In your dashing flying suit
And with your groovey sunglasses
You’re really rather cute!
We sat and watched you friday night,
Our eyes glued to the telly,
And when we saw your video clip
Our paws all turned to jelly!
So Pudsey, what a star you are
On TV and the web
We think you’re quite magnificent
A real life super Ted!!
hehe- everyone loves me!! ![]()
