Meeting Martin Shaw

Ploughs to Props day 2 - I’ve just worked out this will be my 6th and last visit to Rougham… unless my new family live local and will take me :-) There was a nice surprise for me today - the ROugham fireboys had been shopping on Ebay and had got me a firemans outfit - ooh it’s brilliant!! I spent part of the day training for firefighting and also had lots of pictures taken… Oh that hose is awfully heavy when the water is on - how do they manage to hold it??! I also had a look round the control tower and had some great photo’s taken there too. It’s a wonderful memorial to those who served at Rougham and I bought a badge to support them (OK OK Debs bought me a badge!!) We scared the fireboys on the way in by calling up with a “rough running engine” made much more realistic by smoke and Nigel changing the prop from fine to course! It was a good exercise drill for them. I also met Martin Shaw and had my photo taken with him… he came to Rougham in his Stearman… Debs thought he looked lovely - trust her!!
