Victoria is impressed!

Another Earls colne day, but alas no flying. However Victoria was in today so I was able to tell her all about my American experiences. She was impressed! We at my badges as well. ’cause I had brought them in again. Well it had to be done ’cause it gets Bradley going! Nigel has told Dale and Andrea all about my USAF flying and they are pleased about it. Although there still all rather tired from looking after Scarlet and and one week old she’s taking after her dad (says Andrea). She likes her food, she gives big burps and demands had a lot of attention! We going to see her tomorrow night so should be good and also will be a chance to go flying again. I haven’t been since my F-15 flight (just a chance to mention it again!) It’s been great at men’s club at Earls colne ’cause nobody has a story to tell like mine ’cause nobody else has looked inside an F-15 let alone fly it. Ooh I love being a flying bear!

Trumped you Bradley!

But to Earls Colne today and I couldn’t wait for Bradley to get in. Why is he always the last one to arrive!!?? He was absolutely astounded when he found Scarlet I had been up to. He was green when he saw the air to air pictures of movie in the F-15.. Hee Hee. Think he’s trying to figure out a way of getting the yellow fur and looking cute so that he might hitch a ride in one!! Then I’d pulled out my trump card - my badges. Ooh you should have seen his face. Guess he’s off to the fancy dress shop looking for a bear outfit! I had to make sure that I kept my one good eye on them as he kept trying them on his shirt to see if they improved his flying instructors uniform. No Bradley date don’t. You need a flying suit. Now put them down! Hazel and Bill were impressed too. I don’t think anyone can believe the things I’ve been up to. Now I’ve got two months left of my flying year. What else can I do?

Nigel’s unbelief!

Back home to Debs today after Nigel trained to collect me from the market again. It’s great having all these contents in the aviation world -look what I’ve managed to do this year. I really must say or the thanks to mark for arranging it for and also to all the guys at Lakenheath that made it to happen. And also to the exclusive band of F-15 pilots that leads me join their club. Thanks are guys!! Nigel couldn’t believe what I had been up to and also all the goodies I had collected. Deb’s and I sorted out the photo’s that were taken (they’ll print them for me!) And we put them in the album. What I collectors album this is turning into with all the pictures of me and the planes and famous pilots. Brill spotters paradise! It was great to update the diary. Now we just need Nigel to update the blog and also to get my pictures up on the website. Think we’d better write a thank you to the Lakenheath guys to… hmmm I’m such a lucky bear!

Complicated F-15’s

I am enjoying a well earned rest today at Lakenheath and am partaking of some good old fashioned American hospitality… Lovely We had waffles for breakfast with maple syrup and then the biggest hamburger you’ve ever seen for lunch. Wonderful! I spent some time today with the F-15 engineers trying to learn about the plane. Unfortunately it all went over my head. It’s so complicated. I’m happy just to go flying and let those guys maintain it!! It’s really funny to be and a little part of America in the middle of England. I guess this is what it was like in the 1940’s during the war. 0.. Except now the planes are just so much faster. I’m trying to find a place on a night flying suit to put my new badges-but it seems to be rather full up. Better make sure I keep it safe from Bradley-I just know he’ll want it for his collection. Better make sure I don’t break too much otherwise he’ll get rather upset.

USAF 494th Patches money can’t buy

I think I’ve finally come down to earth after yesterdays flight… but my grin just won’t go away :-) I never got to tell you about my special patches that I was given… seeing as I’ve flown with the 494th Fighter Group I was given the squadron patches (you can’t buy these on eBay!!) but seeing as I was such a special bear they gave me one of the patches that only the pilots get… not even ground crew or navigators can have one of these :-) So now you can see why Top Gun BRadley is going to be wanting one… coz he loves badges and he’d also love to go in an F-15!! :-) I think I need to point out to him that only F-15 pilots can have one… which is why I can have one coz I’ve been an F-15 pilot!! We had a look at the photos from yesterday… they’re brill (of course because they’re starring me!!) We’re sorting them all out to send to mum… coz she loves photos of me to put into the album… well Debs, these are really special photo’s :-)

Pudsey: USAF F-15 Eagle, 8.6G, Mach 1.1 ! !!

Well today’s the day I flew an F-15!! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant… “I went into the Danger Zone”!! :-) TopGun Bradley eat your heart out coz I’ve flown with the 494th Fighter Group with USAF!! :-) We went on a “BFM” sorties (Bear Flying Mission! :-) ) And we pulled8.6G’s and went Mach 1.1… Oooh I’m a supersonic bear!! I managed to destroy 4 Mig28’s… coz this time I was allowed to “push the button” instead of just longing staring at them all!! These planes are just so fast it’s brilliant - you climb vertically sooo quickly :-) We also carried out lots of formation flying… well I’ve had so much practice at that :-) Then I had a photo shoot air-to-air.. how many people can say they’ve had their photo taken in an F-15 in flight??

Pudsey in F-15 with USAFPudsey's F-15 air to air photo

I’ve had a really, really brilliant day… don’t know what can top this! I can’t wait to see my top gun mate Bradley again and tell him what I’ve been up to… and when he sees my exclusive patches I was given… Oh I just can’t wait! :-)

To USAF Lakenheath…

It’s adventure time for me again as I’m off to fly with the USAF in an F-15… you should see Bradley’s face - he can’t believe it… hee hee!! It was all arranged by the model man from Rougham! Actually that doesn’t sound right - it’s Mark Hinton - a guy we met at Rougham who flies model aircraft all over the place… and they’re really good… just a bit small - even for me to fly in!! :-) He’s got some contacts at Lakenheath and my fame has spread that far and they’re begging to fly with me… or did he say we had to beg to get me to fly with them?? Anyway that doesn’t matter… the main thing is that I’m gonna fly an F-15 - WOW!! Really looking forward to it and I’ll meet some great people at Lakenheath. They’ve said they’ll take some great pictures to send to my mum… well you know how she likes to do these things… mums always like to have photos that can be used to embarrass you later!!

Scarlett Lucy Featherby

CONGRATULATIONS TO DALE AND ANDREA FEATHERBY ON THE BIRTH OF THEIR BABY DAUGHTER SCARLETT LUCY. (See Debs was right in buying the boots!!) :-) Scarlett was born at 3.24 this morning and mum and baby are doing well (they always say that!!). Uncle Dale has now turned into the perfect doting dad (I don’t believe it!!) and is soooooo pleased and proud - but then she is gorgeous so I’ll let him off! :-) Mind you I still think that I’m cuter… oooh I’ve got the “Dale” look again! I’m looking forward to seeing “daddy Dale” in action - wonder how he’ll get on changing a nappy!?! Debs was so pleased and happy that she went shopping at Asda tonight and I found the perfect present for Scarlett - my first aeroplane… well she’s got to have presents like that seeing as she’s been born into such an aviation family! We can’t wait to actually see her now :-)

Mad Brad

Back to work for Nigel and Debs and back to Earls Colne for me… But no flying due to the weather again… but it just gave them a chance to admire my tan!! Bradley was interested to hear about my flying of the Airbus (think he secretly wants to be an airline pilot!!)… I passed on a few tips that I have learnt this year :-) Bradley was also interested in finding out if I had got any new badges… oooh he’s badge mad! :-) The biggest news we are all waiting for is for the birth of Dale and Andreas baby. Andrea has been in hospital since Sunday and is getting most fed up… as is Dale :-) Debs is hoping that the baby would have been born when they were still in Spain as she saw a lovely pair of baby girls boots… and because she loved them so much she bought them anyway!! Lets hope Andrea has a baby girl now!! :-)

Home on the flight deck

Last day in Spain today… shame it’s been a brilliant trip with absolutely wonderful weather for October… almost like summer :-) We had a final shopping trip in Torri and then it was up to the pool to sunbathe and swim… in my fur coat!! But it was OK coz it gave me time to read the Douglas Bader book again - brilliant. We had a final Chinese meal (told you it was a good restaurant!) and then we had to head back to Malaga for our trip home. I’ve just realised that this will be my last trip to Malaga and Spain unless my new family brings me… it seems sad to think that when Debs and Nigel come next year I won’t be with them :-( I manage to get my flight back to Stansted on the flight deck again… I love flying these Airbus’s - and Debs always looks so envious as I go into the flight deck and she goes into the cabin!! :-)
