Poor Aiden!

Hee hee… back to school for Ben today :-) Day at Earls Colne for me… but no flying… and Bradley went home sick :-( It seems that the wind is just too strong for students today so I had a nice relaxing day and joined in with the “mens club” :-) I think they accept me coz I’m male, but I think the “bear” status confuses them! I was enjoying reading the “GASIL” safety mag from the CAA - I liked the funnies in there from the things that students say :-) Nigel came in later in “CN” to collect Debs to take her home and I couldn’t work out why he wasn’t in the Yak… until it turns out he;d been to Manchester Barton for work! Oi !! What about me?? I haven’t been into Barton :-( When we left to go home all the “Dukes of Cassutt” were here as they’d finished a display pratice for Sundays Seething display… poor Aiden - he still hasn’t managed to win an air race!! We then had a nice flight home… at least I got into the air! :-)

Poor Ben…

Oh dear, poor Ben - another day off school today sick with ear-ache and sore throat - so Debs whisked him off to the doctors… meaning she was late for work and I was late for flying :-( Anyway we finally got going and I made it to Earls Colne for lunch and the mens club :-) Bradley was hiding from Debs when we came in coz of his cheeky P&P charge… never mind says Deb - we’ll have the last laugh when he sees our monopoly money! And she was right - he couldn’t believe it… think he’s now planning on spending it somewhere :-) I did manage to fly today… a nice little local jaunt in “CL” - was a bit windy though :-) I may be coming to the end of my visits to Earls Colne and flying with “Top Gun” Bradley unless I’m won by someone here! I don;t really want to think about the end of the year coz I’m having too much fun to stop… really hope I got to a flyer. Anyway Debs nearly forgot me at the end of the day coz she was still working… it’s OK Debs - I could have gone to groundschool again!! :-)

Big kid examples…

Another no car day today for Debs and I - so another day for Nigel to play chauffer!! Today we went in a big posh silver car as Nigel is off to Birmingham for a meeting :-) Bradley and I went for a local nav ex with Nic Lloyd (I’ve flown with him before:-) ) and everything was great… in fact he’s coming along nicely (can’t believe Debs will be like this in the near future!!) Bradley had to collect a book for Nigel from Andrewsfield (as he’s about to do his Class Rating Instructor course) and he’s put his own personal handling charge on it!! Ooh bet Nigel and Debs will have a reply for that!! And I was right :-) They raided the monopoly money and scanned it for Bradley…as Nigel says “toytown payment for toytown delivery”!! :-) We’ll see how all that goes down tomorrow then… hope I don’t get shot!! I think Nigel and Bradley really enjoy acting like big kids… I thought they were supposed to be setting an example to me?? :-)

Bradleys haircut…

Oh dear, poor Debs - trouble with her car today so we all went to work in Nigel’s car and Nigel and I spent the day at Earls Colne… and the best bit is that only I went flying!! :-) There were lots of trial flights today and everyone loved me… I’m such a good introduction to the world of flying :-) One guy’s children completely fell in love with me and wanted to take me home straight away… Carolyn had to explain all about buying tickets for children in need :-) Bradley and I went on a trial lesson at 17:00 in “ET” and we had a lovely amble about the area - I like trial flights because they are often sight seeing trips as well as how to physically fly… I’m getting to know this area really well now (I’ll be so useful to Debs on her nav exercises!!) Bradley had to have his hair cut again today - he hates it coz it grows too long too quickly… I did tell him to have a “number one” but all I got was the “Uncle Dale Stare”!! Oops - better find something to do quickly!! :-)

Buttons too small… or paws too big?

I’ve discovered a new game - PSP Pilot Acadamey… and it’s brilliant :-) Mattie has had it for ages and I’ve watched him play it… now Debs has it too and you can play against each other!! It’s great - Nigel and Mattie were practising formation with a Spitfire and a Mustang. Then when Debs and Mattie had a go, MAttie was bored of the formation so he shot her down… ooh I’m not playing with him! Ben wanted a go then, so Mattie and Ben played the proper game of chase… I wanted a go, but they wouldn’t let me… they said my paws were too big for the buttons - what cheek! Don’t they know these paws have played with the buttons of an Apache!! I waited until they’d gone to bed and then I had my turn and I thought I’d have a go on the lessons… oooh the controls are sensitive - I crashed on take-off! Think I’ll stick with the real ones! :-)

Quiet days…..

Lovely sunny day, perfect flying weather and it’s the weekend… bound to get a flight in… wrong! Seems like Debs had a tiring week so therefore she had a lie-in.. a long one! Then when she woke up I was sure we’d go, but no, Mattie needed to go into town. It was his birthday during the week and the money was burning a hole in his pocket - he wanted the Arsenal 3rd strip shirt :-). Well we still had the afternoon so I was sure we’d go… bu NO AGAIN :-( They’d made arrangements to photograph a wedding… and I was left home alone! Well, Debs had left her PC on so I went surfing the net. The forum has been really quiet this week - no new photos and very few comments… guess Uncle Dale being on holiday might have something to do with it :-) Also had a look on Ebay - Some nice bear-sized clothes on there… even got a flying jacket! Right… where’s Deb’s PayPal account???

Victoria loves me!

After my celebrity lifestyle yesterday, it was back to work at Earls Colne today :-) Top Gun Bradley was on holiday today and Roger has obviously moved onto hotter things(!) - hi Roger - hope you’re OK and having fun (know you’ll be reading the on-line diary… post a comment back :-) ), so I went flying with Robin Rudderham today in “CL”… nice local lesson of 50 minutes… more hours for my logbook :-) Nigel spent the day at Earls Colne too.. is he trying to find out my secret on my success with the ladies too??? Debs car was in for an MOT and Nigel was chauffer for the day :-) It was very quiet and sedate at Earls Colne today with Bradley on holiday… guess he’s such a disruptive influence then!! Carolyn was on holiday too, but I had Victoria and Bill to look after me… after my fire training this week I’m an expert so I was a great help for Victoria… aah she loves me lots :-)

Press photo shoot

Big press photo-shoot today in Norwich & I wanted the celebrity treatment when I got up …. but all I got was Debs :-) Nigel & I were flying with Mustafar to Norwich where he’d arranged for the EDP to meet us for some publicity for what we were doing for ‘children-in-need’ & at the same time to link it in with the Indian Restaurants – yum! :-) We went in the Robin – G-CCCN (oooh too many ‘charlies’!!) It’s a pity Uncle Dale & Andrea (that should be Auntie Andrea – but she’s too glamorous for that!! :-) ) are on holiday in Jersey otherwise they would have been able to get the paper for us … hee hee hee I love being a famous bear. The photographer (lovely lady :-) ) fell in love with me … I do seem to have this effect on women – do I let Bradley in on my secret … hmmm – I think not!! We then had a lovely flight home – weather has been so good for September …. Let’s hope it lasts through October too :-)

Happy birthday Mattie

I cant believe how much I had to learn last night. We covered topography… I never realised how much the landscape changed. I also done some fire training with Victoria and some CPR. I was good at fire training thanks to my supervisory skills at Rougham :-) I went to Cambridge with David and Ann - we went in the Bulldog G-BZON… that was fun :-) It was Matties birthday today and he was happy coz he got money to put into his “laptop fund”… and I think he’s a lot nearer his target than he thought he’d be :-) He loves going on the PC and he’s actually quite a wizz at it… I’m gonna have some lessons off him :-) My photo album at home has now been brought up to date and is actually full up now… I’ll have to get another one :-) I now have two albums and I love looking through them - great memories of my year to date… someone’s going to end up with a great prize when they win me :-)

Bonjour Le Touquet.. again.

I was ready nice and early coz I was looking forward to going to France. The two people we were going with were also ready… but there was no sign of Bradley :-( While we were waiting I managed to sell some tickets to the lady coming to France… thanks - it all helps children in need :-) Bradley finally arrived with his mum (he’s too young to go on his own… I don’t think he can be trusted!!) and off we went. It was a great flight as the visibility was superb - I love a trip to France! We also enjoyed ourselves while in Le Touquet… but I couldn’t find anything to spend my Euro’s on :-( Great flight back home again - great viz again… Unfortunately we’d had such a great time that we were rather late back… too late coz mum had gone home - oops! She did leave instructions for Bradley to take me home with him… but he declined :-( So I stayed at Earls Colne and completed some ground school… oooh there’s lots to learn… after that I went and kipped in the office - well I was tired after my busy day :-)
