Old Dave Fixit loses his marbles….

Goodie more flying today - got to get it in while the weather is good!! Dennis came along for the ride too - guess we didn’t put him off yesterday then! We went flying in G-CCCN today to do some formation with the Yak for some photo’s for Mustafa. First off we had to collect the Robin from Crowfield and bring it to Elmsett and Debs flew… good circuit practice for her :-) Then we went for a formation photo shoot with Captain Young (aka Old Dave Fixit) at the controls and Nigel in the Yak. Dennis much preferred to be in the Robin watching the Yak - hmmm maybe he’;s not so aerobatic after all!! Poor old Dave Fixit… think he’s losing his Marbles… he kept calling “final 23″ when we were coming into land 05 at Elmsett!! :-) To finish off a nice Sunday we had to take the Robin back to Crowfield again with Debs at the helm with another circuit and landing… think she’s getting th hang of it now!! :-)

Dennis Bear

Guess where we went today… Ealrs Colne!! :-) It was a ferry job too as first Debs went in and then Mattie!! Mattie had also brought a friend today - Dennis !! He’s another flying bear (hmmm - what are they trying to tell me !!) Dennis doesn’t have a flying suit like mine… I’m special it seems as it is hand made :-) But he does have a really cool flying jacket - just like the WWII pilots complete with a white silk scarf - that’s really nice… I want one!! Nigel and I put Dennis through his aerobatic paces today - just to see what he’s made of … and amazingly he coped with the lot!! Guess he’s just like his name sake then - Denny Dobson (well he is Matties bear - what do you expect!!) :-) Guess he’s also just like Mattie then as he loves aeros! After a busy day (ohh it’s tiring doing aerobatics!) it was off to Pizza Hut for dinner - yum yum! Dennis didn’t eat much - wonder if he was feeling slightly of colour!! :-)

Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning

Hooray Yak flight to Earls Colne… the only way to get some flying in :-) Bradley is supposed to be having a Yak trip today (payment for the video!!)… but guess what - the weather turned grotty - never mind it was “the worlds biggest coffee morning” at Earls Colne today - in aid of MacMillan nurses - lots of cake!! We had to save Debs a cheese scone and some chocolate cake… otherwise Bradley would have eaten it all and there would have been none left for Debs :-) Victoria nearly had an unplanned fire drill today when Bradley burnt his teacake… he should have stayed in the kitchen instead of flapping around when Nigel played his “stalling video” ! :-) Hee hee - it’s always such fun down here. Victoria’s son Owen came down today as well and we had out photo taken together… ahhh! Nigel and I had to take our chances and make a dash for it weather-wise to get home… but it was actually Ok and the cloudbase was 1100 feet :-)

Ebay here we come again…

Debs has a flying lesson today… another attempt at circuits! Ooops. Cancelled again… I think she’s doomed on the circuit front - It was windy today :-( She’s booked for Monday for next week - so if it’s bad she can move the lesson to later in the week. Just to rub salt in the wound Nigel came in with the Yak to pick her up and they also practised the circuit on the way home :-) Well that was the only flying that we were able to do all day… my hours are slowing down now! We did have a surpise tonight though as the bits have come for Debs party… We’ve got bunting, flags, posters - all so very 1940’s… it will be great!! Debs has her outfit sorted out now - thank goodness - she was driving me mad :-) She’s got pink shoes (well it is Debs!!) - not sure they had pink shoes in the 1940’s though - but I don’t think she’ll let that fact worry her!! Guess I’d better get my outfit sorted now… Ebay here we come again… :-)

Winter Brad-tire

No flying for me today… Debs took me to work but was so busy she never got to the club… also there wasn’t much flying full stop due to the weather… lots of rather heavy showers today :-( It’s also getting colder in the mornings and evenings now… Bradley’s now dressing for winter! He has his thick socks, a T-shirt under his shirt and also his instructors coat with a nice furry collar - ahh bless!! Actually I think the coat just adds to the “top Gun” image so now he puts the coat on… steps outside… pulls up the collar (the furry one!)… puts on the shades… and strides to the plane… Hey Maverick eat your heart out!! Well I feel rather left out now coz I have the shades but not the coat!! Hey Debs - you have to find me a flying jacket coz you know how much I have to “to be like Brad”!! Oooh - he’s going to be cross with these comments!! ;-)

Get adding Nigel…

We went to work by posh car today… Nigel had a hire car :-) Nigel kept me company at Earls Colne today - thenk he just wanted to join in the mens club really!! I managed to get three flights in today… Bradley (aka Top Gun) and I went on a local Nav Ex with Nic Lloyd - I’ve flown with him lots so I’m sure my expertise will help me to become an Ace pilot :-) We then went on a local flight with Malcolm Wright in “SG” and finally attempted another one in “SG” before returning due to bad weather - story of this year I think :-( But at least I got more flying than Nigel or Debs today… another 2 hours 20! I really must get Nigel to add up the hours in my log book - I want to know what my totals are! It’s going to be a really good log book as I’ve done loads this year… still hoping for a flight with the Reds - I must nag Nigel to sort one out for me… how cool would that be??! :-)

A photogenic bear…

Oooh autumn is coming… it was raining this morning. I went to work with Debs but she didn’t bother dropping me off as the weather was so grot :-( We popped in at lunchtime and Bradley had a trial lesson booked so I stayed behind to fly… then it got too windy and Bradley chickened out of flying - perhaps he’s still feeling ill??? :-) Ooops I’m copping Bradley’s version of Dales look!! Jumped onto the forum.. hey Uncle Dale has posted a thread about our picture in the local Norwich paper… oooh Nigel has come in for some stick - Uncle Dale has a poll going about Nigel faking it as an airline pilot :-) Oi!! There’s a post on there about me… and it’s not very nice… think I have to have a word with Uncle Dale :-( Spent the rest of the evening sorting out wedding photo’s… they’re really good :-) but they could have been improved if I had been in them!! I’m a very photogenic bear I’ll have you know!

Seething, Guy and Leah…

Seething airshow today and it was really windy! There were lots of stalls and old vehicles on the ground to look around, and Debs found a book all about the 8th Air Force during the war (she certainly loves that era :-) ) We also met up with Maurice and Janie again and the “Dukes of Cassutt”. Leah was there and Guy the Fireman from Rougham took a shine to her but he was too shy to talk to her… so he asked Debs to put a word in for him (oh my goodness… does he realise what he’s done??!!) They also had parachuting Teddies and asked me if I wanted to join in… hmmm I don’t think so… I like to do my jumps tandem :-) One teddy made the field and one ended up on the taxiway… I didn’t see where the other one went! We then had to hop up to Norwich to drop Elliotts birthday present off at the tower… hee hee hee not many people get to go to the tower :-) We then finished off a lovely day by having tea with Maurice… and guess what - Dale was there!! We gave Leah Guy’s phone number… wonder if she’ll ring him?? :-)

Karen and Simon to France - Pudsey Airways!

What glorious weather… and NO WIND!! We had a lovely flight to France with Debs flying and Simon and Karen couldn’t believe how smooth the landing was (and yes, Nigel, it was yours and not Debs :-) ) /we had fun going around the market… Karen nearly bought a pair of boots and then we sampled French Cuisine at our favourite restaurant :-) It was very entertaining watching the locals play football in very skimpy swimming trunks! It was time for a spot of shopping on the way back to the airport… Karen and Simon took a fancy to an oldie worldy globe for their study… Simon wanted a levitating one… but Karen said no!! Debs bought one with stars on it :-) Simon had a real treat on the way home as he got to fly… oooh he loved it - the concentration on his face though was brilliant - I don’t think he realised just how hard it was to fly!! Made him appreciate Debs flying even more… and as for Nigel’s landing… :-) !!

Too busy and stressed!

We flew to work today in “CN” again (ooh how cool is that to say we “flew to work”!!?? :-) ) Debs was busy revising on the way for her lesson on circuits… only to find that it had been cancelled coz Bradley was sick :-) Nigel was working at Earls Colne this morning in the hope that Debs would come down for lunch… some hope that was :-( She was much too busy and really stressed… poor Debs. I got a local flight in “DW” with Frank… and I was a really good passenger (or at least that’s what it said in my log book!!) Then Nigel and I went home to Crowfield to get the plane ready for tomorrow and our trip to France :-) We had to refuel it (as always with planes!!) and also clean the windscreen coz it was really dirty… Nigel will never make a window cleaner - he kept missing bits! Good job I was there to supervise him :-) We then had to get all the life jackets ready… they still haven’t got one for me though… think I’ll go searching on Ebay!
