Another grot day today - low cloud, some rain
Bradley and I were supposed to be going on a cross country trip to Norwich but we didn’t go
… and I was looking forward to taking my top gun mate “Bradley Briefit” to meet my Uncle Dale and Andrea… Oh well - another day now. I did get a treat today though - Debs bought me some Red silky boxer shorts complete with hearts on them… Quick where are those lovely Guinot girls? - the boxers match their suits!! Hazel and Carolyn have been looking after me again today and they do it so well
The (Earls Colne Mens Club) met at lunch time and had a nice little natter - hee hee. I hope the weather improves tomorrow - I want to fly again. Also it’s Clacton Airshow on Thursday and I want to go… and Friday Debs has a lesson - so come on summer - where are you??! Still haven’t sorted those photos yet… suppose I must make a start…

This summer has been a wash-out - and today was no exception
I went to the flying club just in case I’d get a flight but no luck - cloud too low. Hazel was working today though, and she looked after me
I was able to show her my badge that I got from Matt - the FlyGlobespan one - she was most impressed… so was Bradley (must keep an eye on my badges when he’s around - and that’s a bit difficult when you have a patch over one!) I was also able to show off the pictures of me with the Guinot girls - striking a pose on top of the Stearman!! You should have seen Bradleys eyes light up - hee hee… Oi! Hands off - they’re mine… my fans that is!!
Got the job now of sorting through all the photos and picking ou the best ones for the web site and my album… Oooh that will take ages… job for a rainy day I guess! Then I’ll have to nag Nigel to get them up on the web site - it’s great having your own web designer - just the thing for a famous bear ![]()

Yippeee! Another Rougham day - lets hope the weather holds - we had ferry flights into Rougham as Mattie was coming too. Mattie and I went in first, then I went back to collect Debs for us all to come in
We met up with BUCA in the air and done a formation fly-by (with smoke - less than Guinot!) and break. Nigel and I displayed later on - but ooh it was a flat display as the cloud base was so low
The weather then kept varying all day - low cloud - good viz - drizzly rain - almost sun (but at least we didn’t suffer like Maurice Hammond - 2 inches of rain in one hour
) Unfortunately the weather kept some aircraft away but lots did display and I hitched a ride with some… first was Rob Metcalf in a WWI fighter - German! - complete with dummy gunner (no - not me!!)… why are the CAA always German pilots??? Next I went in a Mustang again (ooh Debs was green!) - big Beautiful Doll with Rob Davies - we had to cut the display short and land - and then go again - hurray two Mustang flights
Finally I went in a P40 Kittyhawk with Peter Teichman - wow what a day -thanks guys!!

Woke up to clearing rain … hmmm – wonder what today will bring??
Well our trip to Rougham was a bit ‘hairy’ as there was low claggy cloud in places but then there was a big ‘hole’ right over Rougham – brilliant
After a hour on the ground we had a transit to Upwood – brilliant place – old RAF base & this was a 1940s weekend with everybody dressed up – I loved it & so did Debs
Nigel & I displayed there & what a brilliant display it was too
We made friends with Nene Valley Gliding Club while we were there as we landed at their strip – we were able to show them Elmsett as it’s featured in the LOOP magazine this month - think we may have a visit from one or two of them
Another transit flight back to Rougham where we saw Uncle Dale and Andrea as they were running trial flights. I then got to fly with Team Guinot - with Nigels mate Dave Barrell - ooh those girls are lovely
Lucy and Danielle really looked after me - although they tried hard to get me to go wing walking with them… girls - I keep telling you - I’m a pilot, not a wing walker!! Mind you, I’m still coughing from the “Guinot Fog” !! ![]()

Hee hee what a fun day I’ve had today! I thought Debs was being mean when she left me behind today … but I needn’t have worried coz Nigel & Mattie took me to Elmsett
1st of all I had to supervise them cleaning the Yak – oooh it was dirty – but you should see it now
Then we had to do some video of me at Elmsett walking to the plane – checking the yak out – going to the flying club etc – it’s great … you wait until you see it on children-in-need night! Then we flew off to Earls Colne to meet Debs for dinner – after doing some in-flight video:-) Bradley Briefit was so pleased to see me & took me on a trial lesson with him … don’t think he was pleased to see Nigel after he posted the briefing video on the net … oops … hee hee
Had a great lesson with Bradley then as we were downwind the yak came & formated on us for some in-flight video … oi! How am I going to get home?? Guess I’m going home by car then – need an early night … it’s Rougham & Ramsey tomorrow ![]()

How lucky am I?? Le Touquet twice in 1 week – I was co-pilot for my Top-Gun mate Bradley today
We flew with Ray Watts & Ruth Gardener in G-BJDW & spent a happy 3 hours in France (oh how I love being a pilot!!). Mind you it was just as well that Bradley was in France today as Nigel has put the ‘Bradley Briefit’ video up on the website & Debs has told Carolyn it is there … I guess everyone on the ground has seen it now!! We had a good flight back, just had to dodge the showers & arrived back at 16:20 – just in time for a cup of tea
How cool is it to say you’ve been to France for lunch … bet everyone wishes they could fly!! Debs & I went on the forum tonight … Mr Shoe has been busy on a NavEx & LeRoy has been to Cromer Carnival with Dougal inside him – hey – Uncle Dale I could have done that!!
I’ll have to see if I can nick Deb’s login & post a comment ![]()

Back to Earls Colne today & also back to Cambridge … this time with Roger & also Jayne Barlow in G-BZET (at least it’s not a Cessna with a dodgy engine this time!!) Roger played a trick on Carolyn today – she’d left her shoes by the desk coz she was doing her fireman duties in the boots. So Roger replaced one of her shoes with one of my boots & made me wear her shoe … yuk – I can’t fly in heels!! Then later during the day Bradley kept fussing so much that his hair was too long he was sent to Halstead to get it cut
I’m sure he has female tendencies – he has to have his hair cut every 2 weeks (gosh – he’s worse than a girl!) – he ought to be thankful he doesn’t have fur!! He also had a look at Deb’s new headset … but doesn’t think much of the colour!! One of his other students has a yellow one – much better colour! ![]()

Stay at home day today … & hurray – Dougal has sent the photos & they’re really good … hey Nigel you need to get these printed & also put up on the website … ooh look – even Mattie gets in the pictures
Checked the videos out too – ooh they’re good – we’ll have to send the BUCA one to Uncle Dale – he’ll love it. Debs got a surprise today when the pink headset arrived – oh good, she’ll stop moaning on about it now then
It is actually a good headset – even though it’s pink – she’s just got to try it out now. She’s also happy as BRC is finished & they done really well – only 3 minor Non Compliances & they retained their ‘A’ grade
Debs brought a friend home for me tonight – a bright yellow (great colour) bear complete with bumble bees (no wonder Debs is happy to get it – her forum name is Bumble!!) Spent a nice evening chatting to my new mate ![]()

Cessna day today … I went in ‘OY’ with Nigel & Mattie to meet up with Uncle Dale in BUCA for a DA renewal – Dougal came along for the ride & took some great pics – but then what do you expect with me on board
Mattie got some great video – oooh he’s good at that
Uncle Dale & Nigel had to compose a little routine to show Mike Woods … hmmm think the Cessna’s cramped their styles
But they still managed to pass their DA’s … even though I had my eyes tightly shut on the loop – the loop … oooh just don’t ask! We then had a nice flight home … great little plane ‘OY’ & what a great colour
Debs had her BRC audit at work today & was rather stressed out this morning so I was glad not to have to go to work with her! Hopefully she’ll be better this week after the audit. Right let’s check the emails to see if Dougal has sent the pics from today … ![]()

Bonjour Le Touquet – viva La France – we’re going foreign again today
We took Keith & Heather over to Le Touquet in the Robin … & Debs flew! I was amazed on the ground at Crowfield as she managed to taxi it really well – the grass must have made it easier
Nigel took off & then passed over the controls … it was a great flight & viz was good too … until we got to Boulogne where the mist was circling. Debs handed back to Nigel for a couple of orbits before landing at Le Touquet. We enjoyed lunch at our favourite restaurant, a walk along the beach & a mooch around the shops before departing for Crowfield. Again Nigel took off & Debs flew us home (& she even managed the radio too
) The viz was even better & we could see England from over France it was brill … it made the years roll back & I could have been Douglas Bader returning to England in his Spitfire
But seeing as it was me – we rounded off the trip with some in-flight video of me – the Superstar bear!! ![]()
