Cor! Earls Colne is busy at weekends – I couldn’t believe the amount of people that came in & also who were booked into fly … we even had a ‘fly-in’ from Shoreham. It was so busy that I hid in the sanctuary of Mick’s office!! Close to lunchtime I heard a familiar voice requesting a ‘low approach & go around’ over the radio … unfortunately it was refused due to the amount of circuit traffic … it was Nigel & Debs in JB coming to pick me up (hi mum
). After a quick drink & a chat to Mick we were off to Goodwood … & my word it was busy with traffic
Debs flew some of the way & also tried to get some video of me in the air. It was great at Goodwood – a real oldie world feel to the airfield … & a race track … racing Morgans – wow! Had my picture taken with a WW2 icon – Douglas Bader (ok – his statue!) – he flew from Goodwood before being shot down. We also visited the tower before departing with a ‘low approach & go around’ with smoke ![]()
