Timmy’s cross country - the long way…

Ooops - I was caught misbehaving with Elliott last night so Uncle Dale sent me flying with Timmy… think I’d rather have been sent to Coventry! Timmy was off on his qualifying cross country (ahh - that’s why he wanted me to go with him - to help him out :-)) We flew to Conington first - and I’m so glad that Timmy had called his mum to get some money for fuel and a clean hanky! We then reached Southend - after several orbits - I had to pull rank and tell him to shape up and fly right :-) Timmy was nervous about infringing controled airspace around Stansted so we gave it a wide berth - via Clacton… Oh my days… I thought we’d never get back to Norwich - 3 hours, 20 minutes flying time!! Mind you, I did help Timmy over the Essex area seeing as I fly it so much with my mate Bradley :-) Elliott and I were well behaved tonight so Uncle Dale was pleased with us… and he was also pleased that I managed to get BUCA home safe and sound :-)

Mr Shoe…. watch out!

Day of rest at Anglia Flight today after the excitement of yesterday. Spent some time with Elliott and Emily - Elliott did introduce me to his bear so we had some great bear to bear chats :-) Managed to log onto the forum today… Debs has been posting some pics - great one of the Chippie over Seething Airfield - well done mum :-) Also went onto my website… ooh I’ve got some great pics up there now too. Mattie will be pleased to see that I went with the Blades :-) Had another go on the exam questions on the forum… ooh they’re still hard - think I’d better ask Uncle Dale for some private ground schooling :-) Wonder what I’ll do tomorrow - hope it’s flying of course! I wonder if we shall see Mr Shoe who is a disabled pilot flying from Norwich this week - he’s got a blog that we’ve been following… and he’s got a photographer from the Eastern Daily Press coming as well - wonder if I can sneak in to the pics??

RAF Cranwell

Ooh goodie - going with Anglia Flight today :-) We are going to RAF Cranwell flying club fly-in as YAKO was on static display. I flew with Dougal and Yorricks on the way up in BUCA - well someone had to keep the guys in order :-) Perhaps I should have gone with Uncle Dale to keep him in order as he decided to Barrel roll us in YAKO… yikes!! It was a good day at Cranwell and my yellow fur complimented YAKO’s colour scheme nicely - it brought out the yellow in her! On the way home I went by Yak (yippee!!) and Bee Bee was flying (ouch!) - but it was OK coz there were no barrel rolls this time :-) We did some formation flying with BUCA and Dougal snapped some good pics of me in the air with Uncle Dale… thanks Dougal! After that we headed for home at Yak pace as it was too painful going with a Cessna… So we were on the ground for BUCA’s landing… marks out of 10 anyone?? :-)

Mark turns green in YAKO…

Lazy start to the day after the fun of the last two days :-) We flew to Norwich to see Uncle Dale, Andrea (my she’s blooming :-)), Emily and Elliott, and to have some lunch at Happy Landings. Elliott was really pleased to see me (who wouldn’t be!) and was admiring my badges. He also had a book all about different aircraft and it was great to say what I’d been in :-) Elliott was most impressed and we had a great discussion, and he then asked me to stay the week - oh goodie! Elliott wants to introduce me to his bear - hurray - another mate for me! Emily was being a good girl today and was helping her mum to wash up in the kitchen :-) Nigel and Debs went to do some Yak formation flying with Dale and Mark in YAKO… I was going to go but Elliott wanted me to stay with Andrea and him so I did. Hee hee it was funny - Mark was green when he came down - Dale put him through his paces :-) Well it’s goodbye to Nigel and Debs for a week…

Cottesmore Familes Day

Wow - sunny weather today - but still windy :-) We flew to Cottesmore for their families day… ooh they were ever so nice there and we got free drinks and food - yum yum :-) My new mates the Blades were also there and so was Denny Dobson, and it was great to watch both of them adn say”I’ve done that” :-) No.1 Squadron were also having a reunion coz they’re 90 years old… and I got a badge (also got one for my mate Bradley seeing as he collects them!!) We then flew our display while Debs just talked (oh - she “commentated” on the display :-)) Before leaving for Seething we saw a Spitfire display and also a Tucano :-) We spent the afternoon at Seething “on standby” again for the Lowestoft Air Festival… and again we weren’t needed, but most of the acts came and performed a “fly by” so Debs got lots of pics :-) Mattie would have loved it coz there were 6 Extras flying and also the 3 Cassutts. After a great day we flew home in the evening sun with visibility for miles… fantastic - I love being a flying bear :-)

I fly with the Blades at Lowestoft Air Festival!

Hee hee hee - I got to fly at Lowestoft Air Show… and Nigel didn’t :-) It was a very blowy day, with showers - some heavy :-( 6 of the acts pulled out because of weather and we were standing by… but they never called us. Uncle Dale was watching at the sea front and kept texting us to ask when we were displaying… he was fed up with the gaps :-( But the acts that did wowed the crowds… and I was part of it! I flew with the Blades (Matt would have loved it!) - with “Blade One” - Andy Offer on G-OFFO :-) It was great - I flew in their famous “Crazy Formation” and then we completed some amazing breaks (I had to pull my bandage over both eyes at one point!!) One of the neatest moves was the formation stall turns - looking great from the ground :-) As we were based at Seething we got to meet some other acts… the Cassutt Racers with Richard, Dave (hey I’ve flown YAKO with you!), and Aiden - from Elmsett… a JB fixr!! Whoop whoop!! :-)

Paws crossed for Lowestoft!

Debs took me to work today but I was too heartbroken to go to the flying club. I spent the day listening to Radio Suffolk and I really enjoyed Lesley Dolphin… coz I’ve spoken to her on air :-) Throughout the day the radio was promoting Lowestoft Air Show… they’ve got Denny Dobson (flown with him!), BBMF (flown with all of them :-)), Blue Eagles (flown with them too!), P51 Mustang (been in one of those!), The Blades (ooh hoping I’ll go with them!), Grace Spitfire (she won’t take me :-(), the Cassutt Racers (hoping for a go in them too!), to name but a few. Nigel (and me of course!) are on standby should any of the acts fail to turn up… Hey Nigel - shall I go and push some buttons in the Spitfire… it might go tech?? Oops - just copped the “uncle Dale” look again - I really must behave!! Better go get an early night so I’m ready for tomorrow… weather forecast isn’t looking very good so I better keep my paws crossed for some sun :-)

Heartache… and trauma…

Debs remembered to take me to work today and to drop me off at the flying club… oh goodie - flying today then :-) Two big surprises when I walked through the door - 1. Walls knocked down and some offices gone - wow! It’s so big and different… I thought Carolyn and Victoria had been taking modern broomstick lessons inside the clubhouse and had managed to knock the walls down :-) 2. Surprise wasn’t so nice - my girlfriend had gone :-( I thought that we would be able to have a nice little cuddle and chat today - but she’d gone and she left me a note - I was heartbroken. Her name got guessed and she was whisked away from me… and Carolyn and Victoria weren’t there so I couldn’t even ask them where she’d gone :-( I’d hoped I’d get a flight to take my mind off the trauma - but no - I was ignored and left on the ground all day… poor poor me :-( I was really glad when Debs came and picked me up to take me home… at least I got a cuddle from her :-)

Pictures and planning

Another day at home… Debs forgot to take me to work - how can she forget ME??! I went on the forum today and had another go at those exam questions… I’m not getting any better! Had a look through the gallery pages… Dougal has posted some nice pics - especially one of the Red Arrows and BBMF… well I’ve done BBMF (and what brilliant fun they were too :-)) So now I need to target the Reds… hey guys - take me with you - I’m no trouble - promise!! Uncle Dale has also posted some of Duxford Proms and they’re good too. Hey - Uncle Dale - have you been a naughty uncle??… thought you weren’t supposed to take cameras in!! Nigel’s planning for Lowestoft this week as we’re on standby for the Air Festival :-) We’ve also got to go to RAF Cottesmore on Friday for their families day. Found out that theBlades are going to be at both events too… wonder if I can hitch a ride with those guys… we saw them at Southend and they were great :-) Mattie likes them coz they’re all in Extras!

Parachuting Teeddies

Quiet day for me today as Nigel and Debs were off on a non-flying day and left me home alone again :-) Never mind - that gave me a chance to sort out the photos on the PC… hey there’s some that still need printing!! Got those sorted and put on a stick ready to go to Asda… I like that machine - lots of buttons to push - hope I get the rights ones this time… quite a queue built up last time I went there - oops! Also had a look through my photo albums to see what I’ve been up to throughout the year… oooh I’ve done lots already :-) Hey! Debs you’ve forgotten to write p some of the pictures - guess that’s another job for me then :-) Oooh they’ve put pictures of parachuting teddies in my album - I’m glad to say I was on the ground to watch that one! 9 teddies in the back of the Yak with Debs, think if I’d gone for the ride I’d have ended up going out too… and I didn’t have a parachute! Glad I went with Con at Rougham - he landed on his feet… unlike these teddies!! :-)
