White Cliffs of Dover

Bonjour mes enfants.. viva la France :-) Ooh goodie. Bradley and I went to Le Touquet today with Ray Watts in DW - a C172! Nigel and I took Debs to work (again!) today in the Yak - and after last night’s thunder storms I’m glad to be able to fly. I thought I was going to spend the day in the circuit at Earls Colne so I couldn’t believe my ears when Bradley said we were going to France :-) It looked like it was going to be a good weather day… so I nicked some sun cream… can’t be a sore bear with sun burn! It was a good flight out… I love flying over the channel and spotting the coast of France - can almost forget myself and think I’m a Spitfire pilot about to do battle (wot - in a C172 says Bradley lol :-))! We had 3 and a half hours in France before heading home (not a bad day’s work for a flying instructor!!)… ooh look - the white cliffs of Dover.. now where are those blue birds?? :-)

Another FIRST SOLO

Took Debs to work again in the Yak - lovely flight - great day for flying :-) Debs will be getting the mickey taken out of her for flying to work… but I think they’re all just jealous really!! I went flying with my mate Bradley again… hey Debs - I think he’ll be ok as an instructor :-) We took Nic Lloyd (I’ve been with him before :-)) and completed Exercises 12 & 13 and we were preparing for his solo… then lucky mascot Pudsey takes to the skies again as I go on a FIRST SOLO for Nic… and was he a pleased and smiling chap when we got down… and so was I!! Oops - Bradley has got a “dale-look” on his face - yes, ok I’ll be fair - it was a good first solo - well done Nic :-) I like going on these first solos - these students all seem to talk to themselves on them… must be nerves!! We then had a Yak flight home with Debs leaving work - thank goodness she was in a better mood tonight than she was yesterday!! :-)

More badges than Nigel!

Mrs Bleese loves me and wants me to live with her… well same answer as to all the others… BUY SOME RAFFLE TICKETS!! :-) Adrian and I had great fun viewing all the photos taken while I was with the Police… ooh they’re great - but then what did you expect with me in them!! Adrian is going to email them to Nigel so he can put them on the net. Nigel & Debs came to collect me tonight - aah lovely to see mum again! I was able to show off all my new badges - I got one from the Air Ambulance - in my favourite colour - yellow! Then I got two from the Police - nice guys :-) I’ve got a metal pin badge and also another velcro one… And Suffolk Police moved the Met Police one from the front of my T-shirt to make room for theirs… we relegated the Met one to my back :-) Debs needs to help me have a move around on my suit to fit all my badges on - hey! I’ve got more than Nigel now :-)

It wasn’t me!

Less hectic day today - I went gliding with the Padre at Anglia Base… nice to put faces to voices heard over the airwaves :-) I went on a winch launch this time with a glider and we had a “soaring” time - brilliant… but I still prefer something with an engine and POWER!! Later on the Police wanted me back to go on a photo shoot with them… guess my reputation has gone before me and they want me to enhance their photos - well I am such a handsome superstar bear!! Ooops - turned out I was wrong! PC Cholerton wanted me on his crew to help take pictures of the outside… I did tell him that he sould ask Debs coz she does aerial photo’s :-) After our photographic task it was time for me to head off home with Adrian and time for G-SUFF to head off for maintenance - hey! It wasn’t me! I didn’t break it!! It’s ok - turns out that it’s time for it’s 800 hour check and service… phew! :-)

So many buttons, so little time!

Early start from Norwich today - too early for Uncle Dale… don’t worry Uncle Dale - I promise to come and visit you again soon :-) Well I was “crew” again today on the Air Ambulance and our first job was a display charity fly-by at Euston Park - wow these things can move around :-) We landed at Honington to spend the day on “alert” - until we got a job - another RTA sadly, and then we had to take a patient to Norfolk & Norwich hospital. I was then collected by the Police - note I say COLLECTED, not ARRESTED - to be taken back to Wattisham to go for a display in an Apache at Colchester… wow-wow-wow :-) Those machines are wonderful - so agile in the air and the technology inside - amazing - I was scared to touch anything in case I shot someone!! I really didn’t want to leave the Apache - so many buttons - so little time :-) Anyway it was back to Wattisham for a great nights sleep for tomorrows adventures!! :-)

Arrested by the Police, Kidnapped by the Ambulance

Exciting day today says Nigel - you’re off on your travels again! Oh goodie I thought until two strapping Policemen carted me off! Oi! What have I done?! It’s OK. It’s Adrian Bleese and his team of Police flyers - coz I’m off in the Police Helicopter - G-SUFF - wow!! We went on a missing persons hunt in Suffolk and thanks to the ace piloting from John Atkinson we found him safe and sound - hooray! first job well done :-) Then I was snatched from the Police to go fly with the East Anglian Air Ambulance - hee hee it’s been a heli-day alright. We went from Wattisham (where it was refuelling) to attend a Road Traffic Accident (RTA) near Ely and then had to fly the patient to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital. Then we landed at Norwich for an overnight stop. Ooh I was excited I thought I’d get to see Uncle Dale, Andrea, Elliott and Emily… I told all the crew about “Happy Landings” but unfortunately it was shut by the time we got there. Oh well - next time then :-)

Please please please Uncle Dale….

Looks like I spoke too soon - a non-flying day today… we took Debs to work - but by car. Then I had a stint at Nigel’s work - but that was boring - I only got to sit on the front desk trying to sell my raffle tickets… but BT didn’t want to buy any :-( Logged onto the forum again later - ooh that’s always fun. I like to see what my uncle Dale has been up to. I miss seeing Emily and elliott - must get Nigel to take me up there again soon to visit them :-) Dale’s been busy captioning pictures of all the planes having a practice for all the weekend flying. It’s trooping of the colour on Saturday and all the regular planes are out in formation - BBMF (been on those!), Euro-fighters (want a go in them!) and the Red Arrows (hoping Uncle Dale will make my dream come true :-)) Then on Sunday it’s going to be the Falklands tribute with all the aircraft that flew over there. Andrea took some great pictures that have been posted on the forum (http://www.ppluk.info)

I can teach this!

Lots of flying again today - lovely :-). Took Debs to work again this morning - she loves it coz all her workmates think she’s mad flying to work!! I then had a busy day flying with Bradley again - well got to check him out seeing as he’s going to be Debs new instructor :-) We had three lessons in the Robin - Debs has got ot master one of these - hate to tell her that I’m a natural!! We went with Clive Booth and completed exercise 10B; then it was with Peter Stockdale doing lessons - Exercise 7 & 8II, an finally Diana Marriott with Exercises 7 & 8 again - hey Bradley I’m sure I could do these lessons for you now - I think I’m an expert with 7 & 8 now :-) Later on Bradley & I went with Owen Evan to Clacton in a C152… not a good trip - they didn’t want to speak to us and Bradley had a sulk - oops! Final trip of the day was a Yak ride home with Debs - she doesn’t think it’s fair that I’ve got to fly all day while she’s had to work - Oh well that’s life I’m afraid :-) … and I love my life as a flying bear - hope it never stops :-)

Desparate Dan the Fire-man!

Lots of flying planned today - trip to Earls Colne to take Debs to work - bit misty but OK :-). Then after the morning with my Earls Colne mates Nigel and I headed off to Andrewsfield for Nigel to show the Yak to some airline guys. However the guys didn’t show (coz of the weather! - Wot else!!)… But we did get to meet Gemma :-) It was then back to Earls Colne and a chance to help out my mate Bradley with a ferry trip to… Andrewsfield again :-) Bradley got to fly the Yak home and also do some aeros… he can see why I love it so much!! Finaly we picked Debs up to go home as we had a trip to the fire station planned with Boys Brigade (and yes Debs was sooooo excited!!). I made friends with Dan the fireman and got to have my picture taken with him - well he was begging me to! I was worried that he was going to drop me from the firemans lift - apparantly he rescued a cat from a tree and dropped it… Hey Dan! Put me down - PUT ME DOWN!! :-)

Weather strikes again…

Oh dear Mattie was still ill today so I stayed home and looked after him with Nigel - these nurse maid duties are never ending :-) Nigel was hoping to get to Norwich again this evening to do the DA renewal and I was going along for the ride too (of course!) We were going to pick Debs up from Earls Colne and then go to Norwich… however the weather decided to strike again by having low cloud at Norwich - again - great :-( However not all was lost and we were still able to fly by going to Earls Colne to get Debs and she was happy to go flying again :-) As we started to leave the sun was trying to break through and cloud base was 2000 feet… but as we headed North to Elmsett the weather started to get poor again with the cloud closing in - oh lovely summer of 2007 - NOT! Still I got to fly and also to say hi to my mates at Earls Colne - my mate Bradley, Carolyn the cash, and Bill and Hazel - Hi guys!! :-)
