Forgot about Elmsett Playgroup!

More grotty weather - where has our summer gone to? It’s going to be another non-flying day at Norwich :-( Oooh I’m in trouble from Lynn (Elmsett Witch)… I forgot to mention the Elmsett Playgroup - sorry kids :-( The playgroup came to Elmsett Airfield on Monday for a look around and a tour of aircraft… Nigel and I showed them over the Yak - well Nigel needs help - he can’t cope on his own… and Debs was at work today so I had to shoulder that burden! Anyway the kids really enjoyed their visit and we had a drink and biscuits in the flying club :-) To top off a brilliant day the kids all wanted their picture taken with me… as normal :-)! See the result here… :-)! Well Lynn, I hope that makes up for missing the visit out of the diary… and I’ll make sure Nigel puts the picture on the web site - promise :-)

Home Alone - AGAIN!!

Nice lie in this morning - love staying at Uncle Dales cottage - its heavenly and restful and so quiet… hey it’s too quiet - where is everyone?? Oh what’s this note… They’ve gone to Conningsby to watch the Jaguars leave… hey what about me… I want to go!! Oh I don;t believe it I’ve been left home alone - AGAIN!! Well at least I’ve got the birds to talk to :-) One good thing about being at Uncle Dales and Andreas is that they’ve got lots of photos to look at… they both love taking photos of planes - especially of BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) ones… and I like looking at them coz I’ve flown in them :-)! Uncle Dale also has a fab picture of YAKO on the wall - it’s breath-taking :-) Well they were all excited when they came home after their day out and theycouldn’t understand why I was so miserable (Helloooo - I was home alone!!)… But to cheer me up they let me have a look at all the pics they took today :-)

My team triumphed!

Back to BT today and guess what… we sold some raffle tickets! :-) Picked DEbs up from work today in the Robin… weather forecast tomorrow morning doesn’t look too too good. Ooh it was windy on the way to Norwich… or was it just Debs flying I wonder! It was great seeing Andrea and Uncle Dale, Emily and Elliott again - Andrea is blooming :-) Elliott had a friend to show me… his teddy bear :-) The quiz night was really good fun - my team was Dougal, Spongebob (sponge brain more like), and Debs (my team mascott :-))! The questions were tough - especially the aviation ones but the best team triumphed over all and we won - hooray! Smarties for a team of smarties - yum yum :-) What a joy it was to beat Nigel’s team into second place - hee hee. Spongebob was a mind of useless information, as was Dougal… and that sort of information was much needed for this quiz:-) Anyway, said goodbye to Nigel and Debs as I was staying over for a few days… right Elliott - where’s your friend… :-)

Yippeee ! Uncle Dale here I come.

I was left home alone today while Debs went to Waitrose for a meeting for work… She took Nigel along as “co-pilot” and left me behind :-( So I spent a boring day wishing I could fly… Haven’t been to Earls Colne all week and have missed my mates. Hazel from there goes to New Zealand today and I wanted to see if she got off alright. I also missed the girls “Victoria the firewoman” and “Carolyn the cash” - they always look after me so well… and then there’s my mate Bradley - I need to keep an eye on what he’s been up to :-) Had some good news today - Seething have set a new date - 23rd September - so that’s good news :-) Debs was also happy coz she’s found a bargain lens on eBay and has bought it… Good - perhaps she’ll stop moaning now!! Nigel cheered me up today - coz we’re going flying tomorrow - to go to Norwich for a quiz night… Hooray - I can see Uncle Dale again :-)  Nigel also said that I can stay a few days with them… Yippeeee - time to get some more flying in :-)

Make-over for Nigel

Had another BT day today trying to flog my raffle tickets… but it’s such hard work with these guys :-) We did get into “BT Today” again… more clippings for my web site. Also found that we’re on the BBC Radio Suffolk web site… Lovely picture of Debs and I but not sure about the one of Nigel - think he needs a make-over!! Debs is looking lovely and tanned and obviously I am looking as gorgeous as always. Then there’s Nigel - looking rather red! Oops better hide now - he’ll be after me for being cheeky :-) Went on the forum today and helped Debs choose some cheeky pictures to post up… and Nigel’s come in for some stick for his display flying for one of them! Just found out that Seething airshow has been cancelled on Sunday because of being water logged in the arena after all this bad rainy weather :-) That means we’ve got nothing to do on Sunday now… so we can go and see Uncle Dale for dinner :-) Also hoping to go to Shipdham as a surprise for Lauren’s 16th birthday :-)

Expensive tastes!

Quiet non flying day to recover from the weekend. Been watching the news - this part of the country has been so lucky with the weather - places like Sheffield and Hull have been flooded… saw my mates from ‘B’ Flight Search and Rescue (Wattisham) on the TV rescuing people in Sheffield :-( Time to reflect on Rougham… Debs and I were interviewed on BBC Radio Suffolk and we were “broadcasting live from Rougham” :-) Great fun - Debs explained what we were up to and how to buy raffle tickets to win “little ol’ me” :-) We also had our photos taken to go on their web site… Have to check later in the week :-) Lots of pictures to sort out again from the weekend - I’ll have to organise Debs and Nigel to match up the PC’s so they can sort all the photos… Oooh these humans - they take so much supervising - what would they do without me?? :-) Debs was disappointed this evening as she was watching a lens on eBay for her new camera but it went out of her price range… Well I do have expensive tastes to upkeep !! :-)

Pole holding for Denny Dobson

Another wet Rougham day - but again it was dry for the display. Mattie came with us today so it was a ferry flight from Elmsett… first Debs and  went with Nigel… and yes a “normal hellooo” to Rougham. Then Nigel went back to get Mattie. I met Charlie Brown and Howard Cook today - your typical English Gentlemen :-) I was lucky enough to do a Chipmunk display with Charlie Brown - Spiffing :-) Later on Nigel promised a treat for me… well I was excited - there were some lovely stalls there and Debs got a Mustang yesterday :-) We watched Denny take off… ooh Nigel I think he’s got more smoke than you!! :-) Suddenly I found myself being taken out to the middle of the runway with lots of limbo poles… Oi! Runways are meant for planes not people!! Time to close the eyes again as here comes Denny under the limbo poles… :-)

Rougham Wings Wheels and Steam

Rougham Wings Wheels & Steam here we come! Showers around but we flew into Rougham with our normal style… run & break - with smoke! My mates Denny and Sandra were there and they co-opted Debs to hold a limbo pole for Denny’s display :-) Nigel & I went and wowed the crowd with our display - oh alright - Nigel did - plenty of oooh factor on the Abracadabra :-) Then I went and done something really fur-raising… I went and did a free fall parachute jump with the sky-divers… ooh my bandage was over both eyes again :-) I can’t believe I now have more take offs than landings… not something that pilots like to boast about :-) It was good though, and Con did look after me well… I’m happy to say that it was good now that my paws are back on the ground!! To say a big goodbye to Rougham we departed in our normal fashion… smokey fly-by :-)

Helloooo… do I look like a cleaner?

Couldn’t fly into work with Debs today coz the weather was grot… so we drove (again!). Nigel then went to Elmsett to clean JB and asked me if I wanted to help clean her??! Hellooooo - do I look like a cleaner??! I opted to stay at Earls Colne… and a god choice that was coz I got to fly today! Bradley and I went in the Robin with amin Hague - Exercies 12 and 13…. we did 5 landings… this circuit is looking very familiar now!! Debs came down to the club at lunchtime to “chill” from work and then took me back with her coz there wasn’t a lot of flying today. I had an early night coz we’ve got a busy day at Rougham tomorrow and Sunday :-) Just hope the weather improves… some British Summer this is turning out to be :-) Well best I go and wash my fur now so that I’m looking my best tomorrow for my admiring public!!

Oi! What about my breakfast?!

Oh no - todays the day - Debs first lesson with Bradley today - poor Bradley :-) Well she was her normal bundle of nerves… and so was I ! I was able to show her all around the Robin coz I’ve flown in them loads and loads :-) I put my bandage over both my eyes for the taxiing… but hey! She did ok for a change :-) They done a refresher lesson of all she’s done so far and some navigation of the local area… hmmm I think I know the area better than her :-) Tonight we flew home to Elmsett ready for a meeting about the Open Day. Everything looks like it’s all going to plan and that it will be a good day :-) Jeannie laid on some food - yum yum! Lynn the witch was also there… ooh had to be on my best behaviour in case she put a spell on me :-) Really looking forward to this open day - breakfast patrol sounds like great fun… patrolling the food - yum yum! Wot - Nigel tells me we’ll be patrolling the airfield in the air.. Oi! Wot about my breakfast?!!
