Well done boys!

Ooh very sneaky, Debs went to work early today… and left me behind! Well it’s just as well she did coz Ben had a very sore throat and didn’t feel well so he stayed at home and I looked after him. I tried to show him how to log on to the forum, but he wasn’t interested. Instead he showed me his Bebo page… ooh that’s good - now I want one. Wonder if Ben will make me one - I’ll have to ask him… :-). Went on flight sim again though - oooh I’m getting good at landing the big planes… much better than Nigel - must be all the real ones I’ve been on… getting to be an expert!! Ben was excited tonight when he went to Boys Brigade - they had their photo taken for the Evening Star coz their BB football team have made it through to the National finals in May in Glasgow - wow - well done boys, maybe I’ll get to fly up there and watch them!… Never been to Glasgow before. Weather should be better tomorrow, so hope Debs remembers to take me this time… or else!:-)

Waiting… waiting… waiting.

Oh another grotty, very cold day. Debs was going to leave me at home but I begged and begged to go. So she took me to work with her until she heard some flying at the club. So I sat in the car and waited… and waited… and waited -  well no flying for me today then :-(.  I had a read of Pilot Mag instead - there’s an article in there about a Yak50 at Norton… Debs and Nigel have landed there and met the owner and had a cup of tea with him - nice man! Debs said we should go in there this summer when Nigel displays at Thurston - great, looking forward to it! Wonder if Stephen (the nice man) will take me for a ride in the Yak50… that will be one up on Nigel and Debs (again!). Went on the forum again tonight… oh it’s great. I know both Debs and Nigel’s passwords, so I can log on as both of them and cause lots of hassle… hee hee hee! Better behave though otherwise Dale will get rather cross… again!! :-)

Come on you Spurs!

Oooh what a day! It was very cold & very windy, & - as yesterday – we had sporadic snow showers – in March – it will be the start of Spring in 2 days!! Debs still took me to work with her & then down to Earls Colne, in the hope of at least 1 flight … coz when we didn’t have the snow showers it was a bright sunny day! However the strong winds were cross winds (are there happy winds then??) right across the runway – oops! So I was grounded, but spent the afternoon chatting to Hazel & her dog … ooh he’s huge, but actually rather friendly :-). Had a treat this evening as I settled down with Debs to cheer on Spurs as they were playing Chelsea in a FA cup replay. Oh dear it just wasn’t my day, Spurs lost 2-1 … ooh Debs was upset :-(. I wanted to sort out my photos to print with her, but she wasn’t having any of it – oops! So I logged onto the forum again for a play … oooh we’ve got a reply on my website … let’s see what it says & reply then … oooooh Dale we know it was you – right! Time for some forum comments then!! :-)

Bumpy Day!

Wow what a windy day … the wind sock was horizontal … all day! “No flying for any GA today”, said Dale, “So I don’t know how you’ll get home”. Ok so there I was preparing to stay a little longer when this little white dot was spotted around the edge of the airfield – “What’s that?” said Dougal, “Oh” said Dale “That’s Nigel” – WHAT!! And yes there they were, trying to land on 27 in the Robin … ooh a very windy landing!! It was great to see Debs again coz I had missed her & she gave me a big hug … Ben also came too. We all had dinner (another one by lovely Andrea) & then it was time to say goodbye. I was sad at having to say goodbye to Megan (a girl bear owned by Emily) … “Oh” said Dale, “a romance – you kept that quiet!!” We then flew back to Crowfield in the Robin – very windy & bumpy!! We took some more ‘in-flight’ photos too. This was also my 1st visit to Crowfield – a grass strip to the west of Ipswich :-).

Bar Flying…

I think everybody is taking ‘Fly with Pudsey at your peril’ literally coz I didn’t get any flights today :-(. Dougal was supposed to take me out on a navigation flight & then I was supposed to go on this surveillance / survey, again thanks to our great weather I was grounded :-(. I thought I’d get some ground-school in with Dale, but he was on a family outing to London … but he did leave me in charge of Happy Landings and Anglia Flight … wow! I tried to log on as Forum Moderator again to have some fun … but Dale had changed the password! I did have a go on his training PCs & thought I’d do one of the exams … ooh they’re hard … Debs is going to have a really tough time with these!! I decided that I would have a go at mixing some cocktails in the bar … & then I had to sample my wares … hmm lovely! Needed a little rest after that lot & so crashed out in the office to sleep it all off … hmm feel like I’m flying now… :-)!

Fur-raising scare!

Well the talk at Anglia Flight is ‘Fly with Pudsey at your peril’!! What a flight we had, I went on a training flight with Dale & Dustin in BUCA – Dale let me fly while he took some ‘in-flight’ photos … & some good ones at that :-). After some hair(bear)raising circuits the engine inspection hatch hinge broke – oooh it was scary – the hatch kept flapping up & down in my face. “I’ve got it” , shouted Dale (well he could have it as far as I was concerned!) & at 50ft he done a tight crisp 200ft circuit – oh what a bird’s eye view of the Vulcan we got!! Then he dropped it neatly onto 27 – phew glad it was him & not me! We managed to get onto Charlie 2 before the offending bits fell off! We then had to let ‘Jim Fix it’ while Dustin & Dale went for a debrief … or was it a change of briefs??! Was hoping to get a 4 hour survey flight over London, but unfortunately it got cancelled due to the weather … oh the joys of flying in the UK!! Roll on summer ….

That chocolate fur look

I had a relaxing day at Norwich & hanger 10 today. I was supposed to be having a flight in the Norfolk Police Helicopter … but unfortunately it didn’t come off today … too busy crime busting I expect! But I was in an excited state waiting for my 1st trip in a rotary … Andrea told me to calm down as I was worse than Emily & Elliott … Dale just gave me one of his looks (see this photo!). I did have some fun today as Dale let me log on to his forum … & I was logged on as moderator!! Oooh what fun I had editing the comments … I changed the Angel display thread – well we can’t have him bragging about his mini-display at Norwich. I then added some more misdemeanours of Timmy & finally I edited Von Flaps comments to have him look really silly!! Ooops! Then Dale caught me & I got one of his looks again … & had to put everything right :-( Then I was sent to help Andrea wash up … but it’s ok coz she helped me & also gave me chocolate dessert … hmmm lovely :-) Need a bath now – the chocolate plays havoc with your fur!!

To Aberdeen by Saab

I’ve been from Norwich to Aberdeen & back again today :-). Simon Rolfe – 1st officer & a mate of Dales took me on an Eastern flight with Captain Winnemuller. Ooh it was great – I love the big jets … loads of gadgets! We also found time for an in-flight photo shoot @ 27 000 feet … wow – how high! Only photos missing are me with the captain & Simon … but I guess they decided not to have them taken as I am just sooo handsome! Dale (nice man!) emailed the photos to Nigel so he can put them on the website … chop chop Nigel, get these pics posted! It was a great day for flying, the weather has been fab for a week or so now. We had a smooth flight to Aberdeen I told Simon that I’d been here before & that I’d land it for them … don’t think they believed me as I was firmly strapped to the jumpseat! We also had a great flight back to Norwich … finals in a Saab 2000 are so different to finals in a yak!! :-) Thanks Simon & Capt Winne

More photo’s available from my album page

Trauma! Hawk

Oh dear – Simon couldn’t take me today, but we’re off to Aberdeen (again!) tomorrow on a Saab 2000 – a turbo-prop. To make up for it Dale took me on an aerobatic lesson in BUCA – real aerobatics says Dale, to make up for missing out on Sunday. Ooooh it’s quite different doing them in a Cessna! Then Dougal took me for a flight in BUCA – he says we’re off to find the magic roundabout … but we never found it … unless it was the orbits at Norwich! Dale then let me fly with Norwich School of Flying & I went on a lesson in a Tomahawk – oooh another aircraft that I have been checked out on! I’m getting to be really familiar with landing at Norwich now … I’m going to take control and do it next time :-) Dale was busy on the PPL forum … think Nigel came in for a bit of stick – oops! Also found out that ‘Big Nose’ is going to be a display pilot for wingwalkers … well I’ll fly with him – but not as a wingwalker!! :-)

The tourist thing

I’ve been wrong about Dale = he’s lovely. To make up for my disappointment yesterday at not being able to take part in the sneaky display that Nigel and Debs did, Dale took me on an Anglia Flight training flight. It was lovely coz as Debs wasn’t flying I was able to relax and enjoy the view… Norfolk’s lovely - from the air! Elliot and Emily were arguing over who I was going to sleep with so Andrea settled that by taking me to bed with her… but we had to kick Dale out… oops! :-) Today, as Anglia Flight is closed, we went and “done the tourist thing” in Norwich. We had a look at the castle and then went shopping in Castle Mall… hmm couldn’t find any designer outfits for me :-(. We then had a look at the Cathedral - wow - it’s huge! Then I helped Andrea with some wedding shopping… it’s not until August Andrea! I needed an early night tonight, coz tomorrow I’m off with Simon on Eastern - oooh great, more “big plane” flying :-)
