Relaxing day today after the hectic panto week - not really flying weather today… in spite of my persistent asking!! Did have a photo shoot today though (what fun!). We went to the Douglas Bader for lunch (lovely!) and had some photo’s taken there. The pub is built on the spot of the old RAF Martlesham Heath where Douglas Bader (very famous World War II pilot) used to park his plane! I also saw part of the old runway that is left beside the pub - wow! We also went to visit the old control tower, but it was shut (shame). So I had my photo taken outside, we’ll come back at a later date to take some photo’s inside. I’ve now got lots of new photos to get printed and put into my album. Nigel says to wait until after tomorrow - coz then I’ll have lots more… why? Where are we going?? Perhaps they feel guilty for not taking me flying this weekend!!

Oh great - fantastic flying weather but they’re busy again! Debs has two panto shows to do - matinee and final evening show… is she trying to be a superstar now?? Nigel at least got to taxi the Yak… but only to the hanger to get the power washer to clean it from Tuesday. Hope he doesn’t want me to help… I’m not going to mess up my new suit! I supervised from a distance - Oh what fun to shout “You’ve missed a bit!”. Almost felt like I was in panto myself! Plane looks brilliant now, only one thing missing - me and my new suit!!
I became a superstar at the panto too with lots of leaflets about me given out. I’ll get to meet one of the panto goers soon as she won a raffle prize of sitting in the Yak, meeting the pilot and having her picture taken. Well I’ll be on hand to give a few tips as I’m an expert when it comes to having a photo taken! Oh yes, nearly forgot - panto was brill and Debs really can act!

Oh well - oh well - oh well !! I have the most fantastic flying suit ever. Maureen is so clever it is exactly like Nigel’s and Debs - even down to the fact it has epillettes! It’s so brilliant that I just don’t want to take it off! Thanks Maureen - you’re too wonderful for words - love you!! xx I have had my picture taken with Maureen for my album - it’s great! Bradley take a look - I have the glasses and the suit now… guess I’ll get the girls next!!
I am now ready for my display season - I have the suit, the boots and the glasses… wonder if Nigel can get me a bone dome now?? Think I need to go on the net now and see if I can find some bear sized badges… wonder what my name badge can say… Display Pilot’s mascot… Worlds best Yak Display Pilot… Display Pilot’s Superstar passenger… hmmm I’ll have to have a think! Oh I’m so happy to have a fantastic suit

“Curtain up… light the lights… we’ve got nothing to hit but the heights”… it’s panto time - “Oh no it isn’t” - “Oh yes it is”!! Well, you might have guessed “Andy Pandy” (aka Debs) is driving me mad coz it’s opening night for the panto. So I’m so glad I’m still at Maureen’s helping with my suit, the only way she can reach me is by mobile… which strangely loses it’s signal a lot at Maureens!!
We’ve got another two days of this panto lark and I come home tomorrow… oh no!! Debs tells me there are still tickets left for the “Elmsett and Aldham Players” production of “Toys” - 7.30pm at the village hall Elmsett - Friday night, Saturday night and also a matinee Saturday pm - think she’s having a plug here in my diary (flipping cheek!) Well if she’s involved in all this panto guess we won’t be flying this weekend then… hmm typical coz the weather forecast looks ok too. Mind you, they’ve still got the plane to clean and I’m not doing that! Bad luck Nigel, looks like you’ll be on your own cleaning!! ![]()

Ahh - wonder how many valentines cards I’ll get then??! Well the answer to that is nil or “zero” in aviation terms. Oh well I expect it’s because there were just too many for the postman to deliver!
Still at Maureens having my suit made - hmm getting used to the life here! I have successfully managed to avoid the dog today - oooh he is so huge, makes me rather nervous - rather go and do loads of aeros with Nigel! Rather wet day to start today, but then turned out nice later… Wonder if Bradley managed to fly today? Heard from my lovely friend Ania - she wished me happy valentines - ahhh! She’s also been busy translating my poster into Polish! She’s off to Baxters factory in Poland next week and is going to sell raffle tickets for our raffle… Ooohhh! Just had a thought - if someone there winds I’ll go and live in Poland - Oh well!! I’d better go and have some lessons from Ania - in how to speak Polish :-)! PS. Happy Valentines Day Ania… love ya x

Lovely day for flying today - perfect vis… but I’m grounded waiting for my suit to be finished
Had an email from Ania today (oh she’s such a special friend) - she’s calling me Misiu - Polish name for Teddy Bear! Can’t wait to see her again, we’re going to Poland on 2nd March - it’s a date! However, I found out today that “they” sneaked off for a flight to Earls Colne without me - HOW DARE THEY!! :-Z “It was perfect flying weather” they said (I know) “Vis was fantastic - could see for miles” they said (I KNOW!!!) Seems like the done a work shuttle for Debs as she has panto practice tonight (great). They met my other mate Bradley at Earls Colne (Hi Brad!) and he says he’ll take me flying again as soon as I like (tomorrow, tomorrow??!). Anyway - pay back time as soon as they landed - uphill (bad move!) at Elmsett - the ground is so wet all the mud splashed up and JB is filthy! Don’t think for one minute that I am going to help you clean it… I can’t mess up my fur or new suit!!

Well no chance to fly today - bad weather - rather wet again! It doesn’t matter though coz I’m still at Maureens and she’s looking after me so well! All my measurements have been taken and I’ve given my approval to my suit material… ooh it will be lovely - can’t wait!! Maureen and Peter (that’s her husband) have a lovely house and I have my own bed (Debs and Nigel take note!!) The food is excellent too… hope I don’t put on weight!? Not too sure about their dog though - he’s huge! He keeps trying to sniff me (don’t like that) - Maureen says not to worry as he only wants to be friends (Oh yeah!) - well I’m not taking the chance, been there before - once bitten, twice shy so they say. Filled my log book in today - ooh it’s coming along nicely - it’s really great watching the hours build up and all the different aircraft I’ve flown in ![]()

I don’t believe this - weather good for flying, plane available, but pilot busy - great
! So that means I’m not going to be able to fly at all this weekend… but on the plus side, I won’t have to sit through Debs attempt at flying! She had a ground school lesson this weekend and was itching to put the theory into practice (oh no!)… guess I’ve got that to come at a later date then! One good thing happened today though - I finally made it to Maureen’s for my fitting/measuring for my flying suit - Oh goodie, more clothes! Maureen is really clever and makes lovely things so I’m looking forward to my suit. She’s already bought some Khaki material and it’s great - oooooh I can’t wait for this, it’ll be fantastic!! I’ve got some personal business cards as well now - Oh I am such a special little bear - have to give a card to Bradley!!
Oh - nearly forgot, had an email from Nigel’s mate Richard - looks like I’ll get a flight on Ryanair too - goodie
!!

Oh typical - plane available, pilot available, and weather awful
- so no chance at all of Yak flying. So to cheer me up we went shopping at Lakeside. They spent ages in IKEA - (boring!) Ben wants a futon for his room (a what? - Is it a plane??) Found out it’s a chair-cum-bed - what does he want another bed for, he’s already got one??! Anyway, after all that lot I was getting really fed up of shopping… until we went to the Bear Factory - oh wow! I was able to go clothes shopping - for me - I’m not naked now!! I got some boxers and a white T-shirt to go under my flying suit (when they finally take me for my fitting! :-Z ). I’ve also got some really great flying boots - just like Debs - fantastic. Then I spotted the “must-have’s” - a pair of “Top Gun” glasses just like Bradleys from Earls Colne. I look so fabulous… checkout my photos…

Back home safe and sound… and goodbye to Ania and a big thank you for looking after me so well… I’ll be back!
Had a relaxing ay today after my hectic week - spent time showing Debs and Nigel my new photos with the easyJet crew and selecting the best one for the website. Also told Debs and Nigel about my trip away - they were most interested and Nigel was sooo impressed when he saw my Cat 3 autoland in my log book… think he’s getting jealous about all the things I’ve been doing!! Hee hee
! I really enjoy flying on the big jets - love all the gadgets in the cockpit, but there’s something really special about the Yak… missing it now and am really hoping for good weather this weekend. I want to go Yak flying and do some more aeros - what shal I try this time I wonder?? Nigel is busy sorting out his display routine for this year… hmmm looks complicated - hope I can cope with it all and not be sick!! :-)
