The Douglas Bader

Relaxing day today after the hectic panto week - not really flying weather today… in spite of my persistent asking!! Did have a photo shoot today though (what fun!). We went to the Douglas Bader for lunch (lovely!) and had some photo’s taken there. The pub is built on the spot of the old RAF Martlesham Heath where Douglas Bader (very famous World War II pilot) used to park his plane! I also saw part of the old runway that is left beside the pub - wow! We also went to visit the old control tower, but it was shut (shame). So I had my photo taken outside, we’ll come back at a later date to take some photo’s inside. I’ve now got lots of new photos to get printed and put into my album. Nigel says to wait until after tomorrow - coz then I’ll have lots more… why? Where are we going?? Perhaps they feel guilty for not taking me flying this weekend!! :-)
